54.2% - Calgary
CGY 22 EDM 12.
Only three days between games is tough on the body, stressful on the mind, but good for the wallet. Many player remind each other that it is a tough week but two game cheques is the positive in the whole process. Can Edmonton use their excellent fourth quarter last week to enhance play this week? Not really. Each game has its own set of circumstances, injuries and developments to deal with. The confrontational talk from Esks GM Ed Hervey will open eyes and sharpen attitudes, but it may not help on-field pass protection. Last week was a three point win for Calgary, this week could very well be the same.

52.0% - Hamilton
BC 29 HAM 37.
The first game of this home and home series last Friday was a pretty good one as the Ticats rallied but ultimately fell short 29-26. Travis Lulay had his best game of the year with three touchdown passes and over 300 yards through the air. But I can't see that happening again. I drove by the new Ticats stadium the other day. The foundation is there and the construction is on its way, just like the present team.

This is a tough one to figure out as listening to the postgame show on Tuesday I developed the sense from all the interviews that the 20-9 loss to Montreal rejuvenated a desire amongst the Argonauts to not repeate the experience come Sunday. But Montreal overloads the tackle box, takes away your running back and makes the quarterback beat you. They can't do that against Ricky Ray, they will try again against Zack Collaros. To allow only nine points was incredible by the Alouettes defence.

90.3% - Saskatchewan
SSK 13 WPG 25.
In all sincerity, Winnipeg played very well in the first half of last week's 48-24 loss. But again, almost every game this season the third quarter destroyed the Bombers chances of success. The Riders came out in the third and calmed down, concentrated and put an opening possession together for seven points. Saskatchewan made good halftime adjustments: nothing technical or cerebral, just attitude and purpose reinforced. Winning in pro football is why you play and get paid. Right now the Riders players, coaches, and management are earning their money. It will be close but...
