Week 13 Picks

8:20 PM Thursday, November 29, 2012

New Orleans
Atlanta (-3.5)
Schultz Picks: New Orleans

World Picks: 52.9% - New Orleans
NO 13 ATL 23 Atlanta Wins
Your Pick:

For the Saints, this is the season. At 5-6, they still have an outside chance for 10 wins but the schedule is tough. Drew Brees is coming off a two-interception game that cost his team 14 points. One was his fault, the other was not. Have to go with the logic here and say it will be a field goal game. Eight of the Falcons' 11 wins have been by seven points or less. They are masters at making the key critical play. Saints keep it close.

1:00 PM Sunday, December 02, 2012

Buffalo (-5.5)
Schultz Picks: Jacksonville

World Picks: 55.5% - Buffalo
JAC 18 BUF 34 Buffalo Wins
Your Pick:

The last two games the Jaguars played have been pretty good. First, there was a six-point loss in Houston and next was a five-point win against the Titans. If Jacksonville can control C.J. Spiller, it could be an easy win for the Jags. That is a big "if," though. Spiller has six consecutive games of 100-plus yards from the line of scrimmage. Jacksonville.

1:00 PM Sunday, December 02, 2012

Chicago (-4.5)
Schultz Picks: Chicago

World Picks: 76.6% - Chicago
SEA 23 CHI 17 Seattle Wins
Your Pick:

The Seahawks are not the best road team. Of their five losses this season, all have been on the road and they've won every game at home. That's enough for me to say that the Bears cover. Bears.

1:00 PM Sunday, December 02, 2012

Detroit (-4.5)
Schultz Picks: Indianapolis

World Picks: 60.4% - Indianapolis
IND 35 DET 33 Indianapolis Wins
Your Pick:

Dome team vs. dome team. Playoff team vs. a no-chance-for-playoffs team. The Colts have a "Chuckstrong" mentality and I would not be surprised if Andrew Luck outplayed Matt Stafford. Colts cover.

1:00 PM Sunday, December 02, 2012

Green Bay (-9.5)
Schultz Picks: Green Bay

World Picks: 70.9% - Green Bay
MIN 14 GB 23 Minnesota Wins
Your Pick:

The Packers should have defensive back Charles Woodson, linebacker Clay Matthews, wide receiver Greg Jennings and running back Cedric Benson back. Head coach Mike McCarthy talked about accountability and responsibility after the Giants game. Good words and I anticipate good results. Packers cover.

1:00 PM Sunday, December 02, 2012

Houston (-5.5)
Schultz Picks: Tennessee

World Picks: 87.8% - Houston
HOU 24 TEN 10 Houston Wins
Your Pick:

A bit of a trap game for Houston in that they play New England next Monday night. I would not be surprised if they won but only by a field goal, not much more. Titans keep it close.

1:00 PM Sunday, December 02, 2012

Carolina (-3.0)
Kansas City
Schultz Picks: Carolina

World Picks: 79.9% - Carolina
CAR 21 KC 27 Kansas City Wins
Your Pick:

It is hard to have faith in the Chiefs when they have only one win all season and that was in Week 3 in overtime in New Orleans. Yes, the Panthers are coming off a Monday night win then travel to Kansas City, and seven of the Chiefs' losses have been close. Still, I think Carolina covers.

1:00 PM Sunday, December 02, 2012

San Francisco (-7.0)
St. Louis
Schultz Picks: San Francisco

World Picks: 77.3% - San Francisco
SF 13 STL 16 St. Louis Wins
Your Pick:

Last time these two teams played it was a 24-24 tie. I don't like ties. That was the last game Alex Smith started but he did not finish the game. It is now Colin Kaepernick to lead the 49ers. The players know they are a legitimate Super Bowl team as long as the new QB continues to improve. 49ers.

1:00 PM Sunday, December 02, 2012

New England (-9.0)
Schultz Picks: New England

World Picks: 82.4% - New England
NE 23 MIA 16 Miami Wins
Your Pick:

The total points scored by the Patriots in the last four games: 49, 59, 37 and 45. The total points scored by the Dolphins in the last four games: 24, 14, 3 and 20. Nine is a lot of points but I think the Patriots can cover, even though it is a divisional game. Pats cover 9.

1:00 PM Sunday, December 02, 2012

NY Jets (-4.5)
Schultz Picks: NY Jets

World Picks: 64.7% - NY Jets
ARI 6 NYJ 7 Arizona Wins
Your Pick:

I am going with the theory that when an NFL team gets humiliated one week, they respond the next week with a much better game. The Jets lost by 30 points to the Patriots on national TV on Thanksgiving Thursday, while the Cardinals have lost seven in a row. Jets cover.

4:05 PM Sunday, December 02, 2012

Tampa Bay
Denver (-8.0)
Schultz Picks: Tampa Bay

World Picks: 53.3% - Tampa Bay
TB 23 DEN 31 Tie
Your Pick:

The bottom line here is that the Broncos will win but it won't be easy. The Broncos have won six in a row while the Bucs have won four of their last five games and made Matt Ryan produce a one-point win. Eventually, Manning will wear out the Bucs but it will take all four quarters. Bucs fight to the end, and cover.

4:25 PM Sunday, December 02, 2012

Cincinnati (-1.0)
San Diego
Schultz Picks: Cincinnati

World Picks: 67.9% - Cincinnati
CIN 20 SD 13 Cincinnati Wins
Your Pick:

Right now the Bengals are tied with Pittsburgh at 6-5. With Dallas, Philadelphia and divisional opponents Pittsburgh and Baltimore left they have their playoff hopes in front of them. The Chargers have lost six of their last seven. Bengals.

4:25 PM Sunday, December 02, 2012

Baltimore (-3.0)
Schultz Picks: Baltimore

World Picks: 90.3% - Baltimore
PIT 23 BAL 20 Pittsburgh Wins
Your Pick:

I am sure if there is any way Ben Roethlisberger can play he will, but it may not be enough. And if he does, how effective will he be? The only two teams the Ravens have lost to are the Eagles in Week 2, by one, and Houston in Houston. They are both very good at being consistent and making critical plays. Baltimore.

4:25 PM Sunday, December 02, 2012

Oakland (-1.5)
Schultz Picks: Cleveland

World Picks: 68.4% - Cleveland
CLE 20 OAK 17 Cleveland Wins
Your Pick:

The Browns may be only 3-8 but have been competitive in almost every game. The Raiders are 3-8 and have been competitive in very few games. Browns.

8:20 PM Sunday, December 02, 2012

Dallas (-9.5)
Schultz Picks: Philadelphia

World Picks: 56.1% - Dallas
PHI 33 DAL 38 Philadelphia Wins
Your Pick:

This week sets up an interesting set of Sunday/Monday night games. On Sunday, it's the Eagles (3-8) at Dallas followed by Monday's Giants (7-4) at Redskins (5-6). Cowboys stay in the race in the NFC East with a win but the Eagles keep it interesting. Eagles.

8:30 PM Monday, December 03, 2012

NY Giants (-1.0)
Schultz Picks: Washington

World Picks: 65.3% - NY Giants
NYG 16 WSH 17 Washington Wins
Your Pick:

The bye week three weeks ago seems to have helped everything as it relates to the Redskins offence. Their last two games they have scored 38 and 31 points and the Redskins are coming off the Thursday Thanksgiving game so there has been plenty of time to get healthy. The Giants are coming off their best game of the year as they beat Green Bay 38-10. But I am going to take the elusiveness of Griffin over the two Super Bowls of Eli Manning. Yes, it is called Risky Business. Redskins.
