Week 10 Picks

MinnesotaMinnesota (-2.5)
Schultz Picks: Washington

World Picks: 77.5% - Washington
WSH 27 MIN 34 Minnesota Wins
Your Pick:

The two most important players for the Vikings had good games last week in Dallas. Christian Ponder was 25 of 37 for 236 yards and Adrian Peterson had 25 carries for 140 yards. Washington showed excellence in overtime efficiency with a single game-winning drive in there 30-24 win against a good Charger team. The Vikings are not a good second half team, being outscored 127-77, while the Redskins are a good first half team, outscoring opponents 133-75 . Alfred Morris is not Adrian Peterson but is as close as you can get. Redskins.

Schultz Picks: Atlanta

World Picks: 68.5% - Seattle
SEA 33 ATL 10 Seattle Wins
Your Pick:

I wonder if last week's poor first performance by Seattle was a bit of a wakeup call. Run defense is an issue with Seattle. In the last two games, Rams and Bucs, 405 yards was allowed. Between the Packers, Saints and Seahawks, Seattle needs home field in the playoffs. I am not concerned about Matt Ryan's seven interceptions in two games. He is pressing, pressing and pressing. I wonder at 8-1 if the Seahawks are a machine waiting to shift gears come New Orleans and San Francisco after their bye? I choose Atlanta on points. Falcons.

Schultz Picks: Detroit

World Picks: 54.2% - Chicago
DET 21 CHI 19 Detroit Wins
Your Pick:

Ok, all of a sudden this is for first place in the NFC North. Jay Cutler should be back as starter for the Bears. Two of the best all-purpose backs in football in Reggie Bush and Matt Forte and two of the best receivers in Calvin Johnson and Brandon Marshall. Nobody gets sacked less than Matthew Stafford, only 10 times in 338 pass attempts. Lions.

Green BayGreen Bay (-2.5)
Schultz Picks: Philadelphia

World Picks: 65.1% - Philadelphia
PHI 27 GB 13 Philadelphia Wins
Your Pick:

Nick Foles! That's right, the University of Arizona product was the Player of the Week last week, so the question is can he do it this week on the road again? I say yes! Foles had a perfect passer rating again the Raiders - 158.3, which included seven touchdown passes. For the Packers, with Aaron Rogers out Eddie Lacy becomes the number one player on that team. Lacy is a Marshawn Lynch wannabe, in that his combination of power, speed and second effort are so similar. But what happened last week in Oakland was eye opening in the word of football. Nick Foles was completely polished and there is no logical reason for him not to perform again. Eagles.

TennesseeTennessee (-13.0)
Schultz Picks: Jacksonville

World Picks: 57.0% - Jacksonville
JAC 29 TEN 27 Jacksonville Wins
Your Pick:

The Jaguars are coming off the bye so they have had time to discuss in detail strength, weakness and everything in between. They will look at the next eight games with the idea of setting up 2014 to regenerate respect for Jaguar football. The 13 points is too much for me, as the Titans have only one win over another NFL team by a significant number; 38-13 over the Jets in Week 4. Maurice-Jones Drew; as a running back, your lifespan is a small window and he needs to stop, think, and perform before it is all over. WR Mike Brown will take the place of Justin Blackmon. In football, you never should get injuries or suspensions as someone gets practice reps, game reps and can gain the confidence of the entire organization. Mike Brown has the opportunity of a lifetime. Take it and run with it, Mike! Tennessee wins but Jacksonville keeps it within 13. Jaguars.

IndianapolisIndianapolis (-12.5)
Schultz Picks: St. Louis

World Picks: 50.2% - St. Louis
STL 38 IND 8 St. Louis Wins
Your Pick:

Is there a better 4th quarter quarterback than Andrew Luck? He took a beating against the Texans and had no effect. The Rams are an ineffective road team; lost by seven to Atlanta, lost by 24 in Dallas, beat Houston by 24, lost to Carolina by 15. The key is pass protection for Luck. Both Chris Long and Robert Quinn are exceptional at what they do as defensive ends for the Rams. This is a tough one, as the Colts coming off an immense 4th quarter win in Houston taking the Texans out of the divisional winning possibility. Colts win, Rams keep it close. Rams on points.

NY GiantsNY Giants (-7.5)
Schultz Picks: NY Giants

World Picks: 67.9% - NY Giants
OAK 20 NYG 24 Oakland Wins
Your Pick:

Very quietly the Giants have improved. Two wins against Minnesota and in Philadelphia allowing only seven points in each game. It may be 3-5 playing 2-6, but the 2-6 Giants are coming off the bye and playing with confidence. The Raiders are 0-3 on the road and 1-10 in recent history. The NFC East is still a race with eight to go, as no team is dominating and the Giants are 5-0 coming off bye weeks in the past five seasons. The New York Football Giants cover the 7.5.

PittsburghPittsburgh (-3.5)
Schultz Picks: Buffalo

World Picks: 52.7% - Buffalo
BUF 10 PIT 23 Pittsburgh Wins
Your Pick:

EJ Manuel is back at quarterback. He is one of my favorite, as he comes across as a smart humble man that is progressing in many ways. I am cheering him on. Two completely different mentalities here. For Pittsburgh at 2-6, they have to win eight of the next eight to hit magic number 10 in the playoffs. Not going to happen. 55 points to New England was a franchise high so do you work for 2014 or stay the course and hope the dominos fall into place? I don't think Mike Tomlin plays dominos. For Buffalo, it is completely different. Doug Marrone is solid as a head coach but has to stop, think, and take the points on 4th down. The Bills have an offensive line made up of a little bit of ever background but have two great running backs that at times and moments make a missed block here or there go noticed. Pittsburgh will play hard but Buffalo has more to play for. Bills.

CincinnatiCincinnati (-1.5)

Schultz Picks: Cincinnati

World Picks: 69.6% - Cincinnati
CIN 17 BAL 20 Baltimore Wins
Your Pick:

I feel confident about this one. I don't think Ray Rice is healthy. Cleveland has a good defense but 17 yards on 11 carries? Many look at Andy Dalton and the interception he was responsible for against the Dolphins. And what about Joe Flacco? Giovani Bernard is the next Ray Rice. Bengals cover the 1.5.

San FranciscoSan Francisco (-6.0)
Schultz Picks: Carolina

World Picks: 75.8% - San Francisco
CAR 10 SF 9 Carolina Wins
Your Pick:

Best games of Week 10. The 49ers are a very physical team coming off the bye. The Carolina Panthers have allowed only one 100 yard rusher so far this season. Only CJ Spiller for the Bills did that at 103. The 49ers are coming off five straight wins against average competition and the same for the Panthers, with four straight. As crazy as it sounds, this could be an NFC Championship preview. Carolina on points. Panthers.

Schultz Picks: Denver

World Picks: 83.2% - Denver
DEN 28 SD 20 Denver Wins
Your Pick:

49, 41, 37, 52, 51, 35, 33 and 45 points scored in the last eight games for the Broncos and they are coming off the bye week. Key for San Diego is Danny Woodhead. Who says you need physical size to be successful? At 5' 8, he is a monster playing in the middle of monsters. But I broke a rule last week. Never go against Payton Manning. Never! Coming of the bye, shoulder restated, Von Miller in the flow. Broncos cover the 7.

ArizonaArizona (-3.5)
Schultz Picks: Arizona

World Picks: 67.4% - Arizona
HOU 24 ARI 27 Houston Wins
Your Pick:

The Cardinals are 3-1 at home with the only loss versus Seattle. The Texans have not won since Week 2, 30-24 over Tennessee. Yes, the present and the future is Case Keenum, and some team could get a No. 2 for Matt Schaub. There are two reasons to like Houston; No 1 is Patrick Peterson vs. Andre Johnson and No. 2 is Arizona run defense. That allows only 57 yards per game at home. At 2-6, the Texans will play hard and I am a believer in the zone system of running the football for Houston. Cardinals on defense are becoming special. A to Z spells Arizona for me. Cover the 3.5.

New OrleansNew Orleans (-7.0)
Schultz Picks: New Orleans

World Picks: 70.0% - New Orleans
DAL 17 NO 49 New Orleans Wins
Your Pick:

This is not so much about offense and points scored as defense and points allowed. Two completely different styles. With Monte Kiffin for Dallas, it is a four-man pass rush with the best middle linebacker in football in Sean Lee. For Rob Ryan, it's almost the complete opposite. Much more proactive, force the issue, force the mistake. Why wait? For what? Make it happen now. Drew Bress has 32 game-winning drives and 21 4th quarter comebacks, and Pierre Thomas is the most underrated running back in all of Football. If Christian Ponder can keep it close, 27-23. What about Drew Bress? Saints cover 7.

World Picks: 54.7% - Miami
MIA 19 TB 22 Tampa Bay Wins
Your Pick:

The pathetic ridiculousness off what was found out in Miami will have an effect. I hope Jonathan Martin comes back to play success full football again, and I hope Richie Incognito sobers up and gets a job... any job, because he lost one for $4 million a year. LOL. Go Bucs! Bucs win.
