Week 9 Picks

CincinnatiCincinnati (-2.5)

Schultz Picks: Cincinnati

World Picks: 88.9% - Cincinnati
CIN 20 MIA 22 Miami Wins
Your Pick:

The Bengals are a confident team and they should be with two 3-point wins and a dominant 49-9 win against the Jets. Andy Dalton is playing the best football of his career and what was a 1-receiver team is now a 3-receiver team with Green, Jones and Sanu. The Bengals have put together 13 touchdown drives of 80 yards or longer which, here in Week 9, is outstanding. The Dolphins' pass protection is suspect and the strength of Cincinnati is their front four. Bengals cover.

Schultz Picks: Buffalo

World Picks: 77.1% - Kansas City
KC 23 BUF 13 Kansas City Wins
Your Pick:

The Chiefs are 8-0 while the Bills are 3-5. This will be the first road game in three weeks for Kansas City. I like the Bills to give the Chiefs their first loss of the year. The Bills lost to Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints last week. But Alex Smith (conservative) is not Drew Brees (aggressive). Take the Bills.

DallasDallas (-10.5)
Schultz Picks: Dallas

World Picks: 74.8% - Dallas
MIN 23 DAL 27 Minnesota Wins
Your Pick:

After two road games (Philadelphia and Detroit), Dallas returns home to play the Vikings, who are 5-14 on the road over the last three years. Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was 13-18 on 3rd down (72 per cent) and made it twice on 4th down. There's a good chance that Dallas will have both DeMarcus Ware and DeMarco Murray back this week. Whether it is Josh Freeman, Christian Ponder or Matt Cassel at quarterback, the Vikings need to give the ball to Adrian Peterson 20 times and Toby Gerhart 10 times if they are going to win. Watch Dez Bryant. After all the verbal aggression against his wide receiver coach, offensive coordinator, quarterback, tight end and defensive end, he has to play well. I think he will. The spread is big but Dallas is in the public eye every week and this week they respond. Dallas covers.

TennesseeTennessee (-3.0)

Schultz Picks: St. Louis

World Picks: 62.5% - St. Louis
TEN 28 STL 21 Tennessee Wins
Your Pick:

Robert Quinn is the next great pass rushing defensive end in football but now has to play Micheal Roos, who is one of the best pass blocking left tackles. Kellen Clemens was pretty good at quarterback for St. Louis. Jeff Fisher knows his business and would be a good coach to play for. The Titans are 1-5 on the road and the Rams should be confident playing the Seahawks tough all game long last week. I hate to jump on the bandwagon but the Rams played hard on Monday night. Take the Rams.

New OrleansNew Orleans (-7.0)
@
Schultz Picks: New Orleans

World Picks: 88.5% - New Orleans
NO 20 NYJ 26 NY Jets Wins
Your Pick:

This is a big game for the Saints. If they are to stay ahead of the Seahawks (and others) in the NFC for home field, this is a game they can't take lightly. The first drive is critical for both teams. If the Saints score fast, the Jets will flash back to the 49 points the Bengals put on them. If Jets hold them, the confidence will explode. The beauty of Sean Payton is he knows, realizes and understands that sometimes this game is about one thing... toughness. Pierre Thomas is the most underrated running back in football. Saints cover.

Schultz Picks: San Diego

World Picks: 64.8% - San Diego
SD 24 WSH 30 Washington Wins
Your Pick:

In a pick 'em game, I like the Chargers. San diego is coming off the bye while the Rredskins are coming off a 45-21 loss to Denver. I think the Chargers are on the rise. Quarterback Philip Rivers is a completing 73 per cent of his passes and the Redskins are 27th against the pass. Chargers win by 3.

CarolinaCarolina (-7.5)
Schultz Picks: Carolina

World Picks: 59.7% - Carolina
ATL 10 CAR 34 Carolina Wins
Your Pick:

The Panthers have won three in a row (Minnesota - 35-10, St. Louis - 35-15, Tampa Bay - 31-13). Not top teams but still dominant scores. Head coach Ron Rivera has his team very well prepared. Only seven field goals and one safety allowed in the first half of games this year. Last week in Arizona, Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan threw 61 passes and still only scored 13 points. Meanwhile, Cam Newton is playing his best football right now. With 10 days in between games, the Panthers will be as healthy as any point in the season. It's the opposite for the Falcons. Panthers cover.

SeattleSeattle (-16.5)
Schultz Picks: Tampa Bay

World Picks: 59.4% - Seattle
TB 24 SEA 27 Tampa Bay Wins
Your Pick:

This is a big spread. Is it too big? I can't see Tampa Bay scoring more than 17 points and I can see Seattle scoring some points but not that many more. Take the Bucs and the points.

OaklandOakland (-2.5)
Schultz Picks: Oakland

World Picks: 75.6% - Oakland
PHI 49 OAK 20 Philadelphia Wins
Your Pick:

I am not influenced by Terrelle Pryor's run in the first quarter last week. That was a run, not a pass. The question is who will play quarterback for the Eagles? The last time Eagles/Raiders met was in Supetbowl XV, a 27-17 win for Raiders. History repeats. Go with the Raiders.

Schultz Picks: Baltimore

World Picks: 74.0% - Baltimore
BAL 18 CLE 24 Cleveland Wins
Your Pick:

So Ravens' quarterback Joe Flacco has as many interceptions (8) as touchdowns (8). Yes, it is true. For the money dispersed, the results are not there. But coming off the bye, the Ravens are rested and ready to go. Take the Ravens.

New EnglandNew England (-7.0)
Schultz Picks: Pittsburgh

World Picks: 71.8% - New England
PIT 31 NE 55 New England Wins
Your Pick:

The most underrated player on the Patriots is Rob Ninkovich. Good pass rusher and run defender. I don't like the points. Patriots win by 3, Steelers cover.

IndianapolisIndianapolis (-2.5)

Schultz Picks: Houston

World Picks: 72.8% - Indianapolis
IND 27 HOU 24 Indianapolis Wins
Your Pick:

I like the Texans and here is why. The Chargers beat the Colts, 19-9. I think the Texans can do the same with the Colts on the road. If they're healthy enough to play, I like the combination of Arian Foster and Ben Tate to win. And with no Reggie Wayne in Indianapolis, good luck. Take the Texans.

Green BayGreen Bay (-10.5)
Schultz Picks: Chicago

World Picks: 52.7% - Green Bay
CHI 27 GB 20 Chicago Wins
Your Pick:

That spread is too much for me. Bears quarterback Jay Cutler will not play so Josh McCown will start. This could be the game that highlights the absence of Jermichael Finley, Randall Cobb and James Jones. With 10 days between games, I like Marc Trestman's accounability. Go with the Bears.
