Not Ready Yet

It appears Daniel Alfredsson's season will not get started on time but the Detroit Red Wings won't rush him. According to the Detroit Free Press, the 41-year-old Alfredsson has not skated in 10 days and is not expected to be in attendance when training camp opens this weekend. Full Story.

Montreal's A-List

The Montreal Canadiens won't play with a captain this season, announcing Monday that defencemen Andrei Markov and P.K. Subban and forwards Tomas Plekanec and Max Pacioretty are alternates for the 2014-15 campaign. The captaincy became vacant with the departure of Brian Gionta, who signed with the Buffalo Sabres in July. Full Story.
