Saturday night in Grand Prairie, Tex., the Goldeyes got a great start from Canadian Mark Hardy, two hits and a homer from Casey Haerther, and another terrific effort from the bullpen, as the Goldeyes won their second straight game to start the 2013 American Association season with a 5-0 shutout of the Grand Prairie AirHogs. Shining Bright
As always the first round of the playoffs provides plenty of great hockey - upsets, comebacks, late goals, great goals and great saves. The opening round had it all. As for the Jets there was plenty of attention paid to the Ontario Hockey League final, where Mark Scheifele was having a great championship series as Barrie and London battled. Full Story.
All Signed Up
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed two picks from this year's CFL draft, receiver Carl Fitzgerald and punter Billy Pavlopoulos. Fitzgerald finished second last season at Saint Mary's with 14 receptions for 184 yards and one TD. Pavlopoulos finished the 2011 season at UBC with the second best average in the country after punting 70 times for 3,007 yards. Full Story.
