Kiel, Germany - Arthur Abraham defeated Paul Smith in a 12-round unanimous decision to retain the WBO World super middleweight title on Saturday.

Abraham (41-4) earned his fifth straight win and third straight title defense since getting knocked out by Robert Stieglitz in March of 2013. The judges scored the fight, 117-111, 117-111, and 119-109.

Smith (35-4) was the challenger for the belt in large part because of his past four fights, which saw the Liverpool native take four wins and two by way of knockout. He has, however, lost three of his last nine matches.
