GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Francis Pare scored the winner in the sixth round of the shootout Saturday as the Grand Rapids Griffins downed the Toronto Marlies 4-3 in American Hockey League action.
Michael Nylander, in the AHL on a conditioning stint from the Washington Capitals, also scored for the Griffins in the shootout.
Mike Zigomanis replied for the Marlies (3-3-2).
Jeremy Williams, Patrick Rissmiller and John Vigilante scored in regulation for Grand Rapids (3-4-0).
Jiri Tlusty, Ryan Hamilton and Andre Deveaux had the goals for Toronto.
Thomas McCollum made saves for the win. Adam Munro made 36 saves in defeat.
Grand Rapids finished 1-for-3 with man advantage, while Toronto ended up 0-for-4.
