Rochester scores 4 goals in third to beat Bulldogs

HAMILTON, Ont. -- Florida Panthers prospect Alexander Salak stopped 28 shots and the Rochester Americans rode a four-goal third period to a 5-2 AHL win over the Hamilton Bulldogs on Tuesday.

Salak, an undrafted rookie, continued his early-season dominance, earning his 12th victory in 13 decisions this season. The 22-year-old native of Strakonice, Czech Republic has allowed two goals or fewer in 11 of 14 games this season, and Tuesday's showing actually lifted his goals-against average to 1.89.

David Brine led the way offensively with a goal and an assist for the Americans (15-2-1), who extended their North Division lead over Hamilton to five points. Michael Duco, Andrew Sweetland, Jeff Taffe and Graham Mink added singles, while Jordan Henry chipped in with a pair of assists.

Mike Glumac and rookie P.K. Subban had a goal and an assist apiece for the Bulldogs (11-5-4), while David Desharnais added two assists.

Curtis Sanford made 25 saves in defeat for Hamilton.
