With the NHL lockout looming, the New Jersey Devils sent some of their top young talent to Albany, the team's AHL affiliate.
Headlining the list of players sent down were Calder Trophy candidate Adam Henrique and fourth-overall draft pick Adam Larsson. Young centre Jacob Josefson was also among those sent down.
New Jersey also assigned three players to their junior clubs, including 2012 first-rounder Stefan Matteau.
The moves will allow the Devils' young players to continue developing in the AHL during the NHL's work stoppage.
Also sent down by the Devils: Matt Anderson, Jean-Sebastian Berube, Brandon Burlon, Bobby Butler, Maxime Clermont, Jeff Frazee, Eric Gelinas, Adam Henrique, Mike Hoeffel, Jacob Josefson, Dan Kelly, Keith Kinkaid, Adam Larsson, Jay Leach, Harri Pesonen, Tim Sestito, Mike Sislo, Mattias Tedenby, Alexander Urbom, Scott Wedgewood, Chad Wiseman, David Wohlberg, Harry Young, Steve Zalewski.
