Game 2 of the ALDS was an eventful one as the Texas Rangers knocked off the Blue Jays 6-4 in 14 innings to take a 2-0 series lead.

Hanser Alberto broke a 4-4 deadlock in the top of the 14th as he singled off of Latroy Hawkins to drive in Rougned Odor from second.  Delino DeShields Jr. then beat out an infield single, allowing Chris Gimenez to score to increase the lead to two runs.  Ross Ohlendorf closed it out for the Rangers who have grabbed a stranglehold on the series as it now heads to Texas for Game 3.

It was a wild start to this one as three defensive miscues by the Jays in the top of the first inning gave the Rangers a 2-0 lead early, however Josh Donaldson cut that lead in half with a solo home run in the bottom of the inning.

Marcus Stroman got the start for Toronto and settled down after a rough first inning.  He went seven strong innings, striking out five while giving up five hits, two walks and a pair of earned runs.

A sacrifice fly by Alberto re-stored the Rangers two-run lead in the second, however the Jays responded in the bottom half of the inning thanks to Kevin Pillar and an RBI single by Martin to draw the sides level.

That deadlock was broken in the bottom of the fifth as Ben Revere laced a single to right field to score Pillar and give the Blue Jays a 4-3 lead over the Texas Rangers.

Mike Napoli  evened things up between the Jays and Rangers at 4-4 as his RBI single off of Brett Cecil scored Delino DeShields in the top of the eighth.

The injury bug took another bite out of the Jays as Brett Cecil was forced to leave the game with what is being called "left-calf tightness" after colliding with Napoli in a rundown.  The Jays lefty was helped off the field after secruing the final out of the inning.  Roberto Osuna was on the mound to start the ninth inning.

Tempers flared in the 13th inning as both dugouts cleared when rookie pitcher Keona Kela and Josh Donaldson exchanged words after a Donaldson foul ball.

The Rangers are playing without All-Star third baseman Adrian Beltre, who left Game 1 with a lower back strain.  Alberto has taken his spot in the Rangers lineup.

Texas holds a 1-0 series lead after taking Game 1 5-3.
