The Montreal Alouettes and BC Lions are far along in trade talks to swap offensive linemen.

The Alouettes would acquire All-Star offensive tackle Jovan Olafioye from the Lions in exchange for the rights to national offensive lineman David Foucault, according to a report from TSN's Gary Lawless.

The Als still have to approve Olafioye's medical records, TSN's Farhan Lalji added.

Olafioye, 29, has spent his entire seven-year career with the Lions. The North Carolina Central product has been named a CFL All-Star the past six seasons, a West Division All-Star the past seven seasons, and took home the league's Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman award in 2012.

The Alouettes drafted Foucault fifth overall in 2014, but the Montreal Carabins product has never played for the Alouettes. Instead Foucault signed with the NFL's Carolina Panthers, and had been with the team until he was cut prior to last season.

Foucault has one start at the NFL level.

Other pieces are expected to be involved in the trade.
