MONTREAL - The Montreal Alouettes signed running back/returner Stefan Logan to a contract extension through the 2016 season.

Logan was scheduled to become a free agent Feb. 9.

The five-foot-six, 180-pound Logan registered 1,168 yards on kickoff returns (two going for TDs) and 1,073 yards on punt returns. Not only did Logan lead the CFL in both categories but the totals were also club records.

The 34-year-old returner also led the CFL with 179 yards on missed field goals.

"The addition of Stefan has brought a three dimensional effect to our offence and special teams that we haven't had in a few years," Montreal GM/head coach Jim Popp said in a statement.
