It appears Frederik Andersen has recovered from the injury which forced him to miss two games last week.

The Maple Leafs loaned goaltender Garrett Sparks back to the Toronto Marlies on Monday after he served two games as the team's backup to Curtis McElhinney with Andersen out.

Andersen, forward Auston Matthews and defenceman Nikita Zaitsev were all on the ice for the team's practice Monday. Matthews skated with the team wearing a regular jersey for the first time since sustaining an upper-body injury last month, while Zaitsev had been out since March 5 due to illness.

Injured winger Leo Komarov skated before practice, but was not on the ice for the team portion.

Leafs head coach Mike Babcock said he's unsure whether Andersen will be ready to face the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday. He ruled out Matthews, Zaitsev and Komarov, but added all three would join the team for the road trip.

Andersen left the Maple Leafs' shootout win over the Dallas Stars last Wednesday with an upper-body injury. He skated with the team on Saturday, but did not dress for their win over the Montreal Canadiens.

Andersen 28-year-old has a 38-18-5 record this season with a 2.79 goals against average and a .919 save percentage.

McElhinney picked up wins in both of his starts with Andersen sidelined and now boats a 10-4-1 record on the season. He has a 2.09 goals against average and a .935 save percentage.

Matthews has 28 goals and 50 points in 53 games this season. Zaitsev has four goals and 12 points in 51 games.
