ZURICH - Germany goalkeeper Nadine Angerer and U.S. all-time leading scorer Abby Wambach are on the shortlist for FIFA's Ballon d'Or award for the best female player in the world.

Angerer won the award last year, and Wambach was the recipient the year before.

The list of 10 also includes Japan's World Cup winner, Nahomi Kawasumi, 2006 award winner Marta of Brazil, and Nadine Kessler of Germany.

There are also Veronica Boquete of Spain, Nilla Fischer of Sweden, Aya Miyama of Japan, Louisa Necib of France and Lotta Schelin of Sweden.

Among the 10 nominated coaches in women's football are two from Japan, Norio Sasaki of the national team and Asako Takemoto of the under-17 side.

The awards will be presented on Jan. 12 in Zurich.
