WINNIPEG - Mark Arcobello scored twice in the second period and the Toronto Marlies topped the Manitoba Moose 6-2 on Thursday in American Hockey League action.

T.J. Brennan, Nikita Soshnikov and Kasperi Kapanen also scored for Toronto (37-8-3), while Zach Hyman added an empty-net goal. Antoine Bibeau made 23 saves in net for the Marlies, the AHL affiliate of the Maple Leafs.

Nic Petan and Jiri Fronk replied for Manitoba (11-26-7) in the third period. Eric Comrie started in net for the Moose, stopping 17-of-21 shots in 32:57 of work. Jussi Olkinuora turned aside 7-of-8 shots in relief.

Manitoba, the minor league affiliate of the Winnipeg Jets, is winless in its last nine games with six regulation losses, two in overtime and one in the shootout.

Toronto went 1 for 6 on the power play and the Moose did not score on their four man advantages.
