Anniversary of Bill Barilko's Stanley Cup winning goal

The date was April 21st 1951 - The Maple Leafs' Bill Barilko scored one of the most famous goals in hockey history. His overtime marker at 2:53 of the extra period would win the Stanley Cup for Toronto as they beat the Montreal Canadiens 3-2 in Game 5 of the Finals. 

It was the only Stanley Cup series in NHL history in which every game ended in overtime.

Unfortunately, Bill Barilko would never score another goal. The young 24-year old would die in a plane crash that summer. His body and the wreckage would not be found for 11 years.

The story itself is became one of legend and later the inspiration for a famous Tragically Hip song.
