It appears that Marco Estrada and Jose Bautista are just about ready to return to the Toronto Blue Jays.

The team said on Tuesday that Estrada, who has been dealing with back issues, threw a side session and felt fine. The pitcher said he will be ready to return to the rotation on Friday against the Seattle Mariners. Estrada, who was selected to be an All-Star, was forced to miss the Midsummer Classic because of the injury.

In 16 starts this season Estrada is 5-3 with a 2.93 ERA and a 0.99 WHIP.

Bautista, 35, was hurt on June 16 in Philadelphia when he crashed into the right field wall and was diagnosed with a sprained toe. His rehab will begin on Wednesday with single-A Dunedin before he plays three games this weekend with triple-A Buffalo. He could return to the Blue Jays on Monday.

In 65 games this season with the Blue Jays Bautista has 12 home runs and 41 RBI with a .230 average and .455 slugging percentage.
