Lake Forest, IL - The Chicago Bears signed center Roberto Garza to a one-year contract extension on Friday.

Garza started all 11 games he played this season, his 10th with Chicago.

"Extremely happy for Roberto, his family and the Chicago Bears that Roberto will remain with the team," Bears general manager Phil Emery said. "He has been a consistently good positive producer and key contributor to our offensive line for an extended time period."

The 35-year-old veteran has started 175 of 205 career games over 14 seasons for the Bears and Falcons.

Garza played four seasons for the Falcons (2001-04), who selected him in the fifth round of the 2001 NFL Draft.
