Sedin was injured in the first period of Sunday's 2-1 shootout win over the New York Islanders when he was hit from behind by Islanders forward Mikhail Grabovski.

Grabovski was assessed a major penalty for boarding on the play as well as a game misconduct.

Sedin did not return to the game after the hit.

The 35-year-old centre has nine goals and 28 assists in 44 games this season.
