BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Bills activated wide receiver Sammy Watkins off injured reserve Saturday.

Watkins returned to practice this week after missing two months due to lingering pain in his left foot following April surgery to repair a stress fracture.

Buffalo (5-5) hosts Jacksonville (2-8) on Sunday.

Watkins had six receptions for 63 yards in the first two games before going on injured reserve. He set franchise records with 125 receptions and 2,029 receiving yards in his first two seasons.

The Bills get their top wideout back just as Robert Woods, the team's leading receiver with Watkins out, is doubtful to play Sunday due to a knee sprain. Buffalo is last in the league in passing.

To make room for Watkins, the Bills placed safety Robert Blanton on injured reserve. Blanton hurt his foot in the Bills' 16-12 victory in Cincinnati last Sunday.

The Bills also signed kickoff specialist Jordan Gay and released tight end Gerald Christian on Saturday.
