Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Chicago Blackhawks aren't scheduled to begin their regular season until Thursday, but will travel to Dallas minus one forward.

'Hawks head coach Joel Quenneville revealed Wednesday that Kris Versteeg is expected to miss approximately three weeks with a lower-body injury.

Versteeg, who won a Stanley Cup with the club in 2010, was reacquired from the Florida Panthers on Nov. 14. He recorded 10 goals and 29 points in 63 regular- season games for the Blackhawks, then tallied a goal and two assists in 15 postseason appearances.
