Chicago Blackhawks forward John Hayden was fined $2,486.56 on Thursday for high-sticking J.T. Brown of the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Hayden was given a four-minute penalty for high-sticking Brown in the first period of Wednesday night's game. The NHL's Department of Player Safety noted the fine was the maximum allowable under the CBA.

Brown was slow to get it up but did stay in the game. He logged 7:11 of ice time in his team's 3-2 overtime win.

Hayden, 22, owns two goals and seven points in 20 games with the Blackhawks this season. He logged 12:04 of ice time against the Lightning.
