The Chicago Blackhawks signed goaltender Michael Leighton to a one-year, two-way deal on Tuesday.

The deal is worth $575,000 at the NHL level.

Leighton posted a 22-13-4 record, 2.26 GAA and five shutouts with the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL last season.

The 34-year-old netminder was drafted 165th overall in the sixth round of the NHL Entry Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks.

He last appeared in the NHL during the 2012-13 season.
