Well after what I've seen the last two Sundays... I'm convinced of two things: 1) Indianapolis is not only a team of destiny, but 2) Peyton Manning, Jim Caldwell and company clearly have one massive horseshoe lodged up where the sun doesn't shine.
Don't get me wrong... Peyton is arguably the game's best quarterback (although, personally I'd still take my chances with New England's number 12...but that's for another day), and probably one of the five best QBs ever, but sometimes to be good you need a little luck and clearly they have had an abundance of it.
Take what happened against the Patriots. Who in their right mind would've expected Bill Belichick to go for it on 4th down so deep in his end? That's something you would expect from a team like the Browns, Raiders or Lions, but not New England.
Then against the Ravens, Baltimore did everything they could offensively to hand that game away.
- Derrick Mason drops a pass that would've been a 30-yard pickup or more with no one near him.
- Billy Cundiff misses a 30-yard field goal. If that was in Colombia, that kicker would be fearing for his life right now
- In the red zone -- specifically at the one -- the Ravens had about as much creativity as the guy who came up with the labelling for No Name brand products.
- And finally, Ed Reed. What were you thinking, dude? Instead of starting at your 40 and needing a field goal to win it -- he chose to lateral the ball to no one particular, thus ending the game.
Look, the Colts are a good football team right now on both sides of the ball, and looking at the remainder of their schedule -- only next week's game in Houston looks to really threaten a perfect regular season. Tennessee, Denver (who are clearly on a downward spiral now), Jacksonville, the Jets and Buffalo remain after that. But through this regular season winning streak, the football gods have clearly been rocking Colts jerseys lately.
