Well, it was a nice thought while it lasted.

Nashville GM David Poile has ruled out any chance he could somehow end up as the new general manager of the Minnesota Wild, who let go Doug Risebrough on Thursday.

''I'm flattered if anyone thought I might be (a candidate for Minnesota), but that's not going to happen,'' Poile told TSN. ''I am very happy in Nashville and I'm not going anywhere. I really like the direction of our team and where we are headed.''
