Team Canada was really pushed and pushed hard for the first time in the World Junior tournament by the United States in Saturday's game, and for the most part, goaltender Scott Wedgewood responded.

Wedgewood faced 32 shots on goal during Canada's 3-2 win and the United States carried the play in the second and third period.

Wedgewood continued his strong puck handling and was the best penalty killer for Canada, who went a perfect five for five when they were a man down.   Canada are 21 of 22 when it comes to killing penalties in the tournament and Wedgewood has a lot to do with that.

There were some anxious moments and breakdowns in the third period, like the Jason Zucker goal from behind the net, which Wedgewood would certainly want back.

On balance, Wedgewood delivered a terrific performance for Team Canada on Saturday and I would be surprised if it's anyone but Wedgewood between the pipes in the semi-final game.
