One of the first concerts I ever attended was about 20 years ago at the Gloucester Fair with Maestro Fresh Wes headlining with his Canadian party anthem Let Your Backbone Slide. In addition to winning Juno awards, Wes 'Maestro' Williams is also a Gemini nominated actor, and a serious sports fan.

Now, 21 years after he first decided to 'Drop the Needle', Williams has added author to his resume with his autobiography 'Stick To Your Vision' where he speaks extensively about sports and athletes who've inspired him, including Jarome Iginla, Donovan Bailey, Steve Nash, and GSP. I'm also quite confident that I can recite Backbone word for word all these years later.

I recently spoke with Maestro about his love of sports, the athletes that have inspired him, and the impact its had on hip-hop music. So let me ask you...are you ready for the drop?
