The Houston Texans remain in top spot of the TSN.ca NFL Power Rankings, earning an ugly win in a week in which several top teams went through difficult games, either resulting in losses, injuries or, in the case of the San Francisco 49ers, a tie.

New England retained second spot, barely holding on for a win against Buffalo, while San Francisco's rally for a tie against St. Louis helped them move up in the wake of Atlanta's loss at New Orleans and the Bears' loss to Houston, coupled with the loss of quarterback Jay Cutler due to a concussion.

Among the climbers this week, the Minneota Vikings rose from 16 to 11 after a strong home win against Detroit; the Dallas Cowboys gained four spots, up to 20, for their win in Philadelphia and the Tennessee Titans jumped from 26 to 21 after a 37-3 win at Miami.

Quarterback injuries caused the biggest drops, with the Chicago Bears dropping eight spots, from four to 12, and the Pittsburgh Steelers fell six spots, from seven to 13.
