The Texas Rangers have climbed into top spot in this week's edition of the TSN.ca MLB Power Rankings, passing the Atlanta Braves, who remain in second spot.

The Rangers have won four straight, by a combined score of 30-9, to move into the lead position at this early juncture.

Behind the Rangers and Braves, the Cincinnati Reds made a big jump, from 12 to three, even with ace starter Johnny Cueto on the DL. CF Shin-Soo Choo and 1B Joey Votto have been devastating at the top of the Reds' lineup.

Showing signs of a bounceback season, the Boston Red Sox jumped up to fourth in the rankings on the strength of a 13-6 start and a lineup boosted by the return of designated hitter David Ortiz.

On an eight-game winning streak, the Milwaukee Brewers made the big jump of the week, up from 25 to 12. Early in the season, there is still plenty of room for more dramatic fluctuations.

Since their 1-5 start, the Pittsburgh Pirates have gone 9-4 and climbed up to 14, from 21, this week.

Heading in the wrong direction, last week's No. 1, the Oakland A's, have lost four in a row, by a combined score of 26-10, so they dropped from first all the way to ninth in the rankings.

Washington was slumped, going 3-7 in their last 10, and lost third baseman Ryan Zimmerman to the disabled list, resulting in a fall from six to 13.

Coming into the season, the Los Angeles Dodgers were overrun with starting pitching depth, but injuries have ravaged their rotation and the Dodgers plummeted, from four to 20, as a result.

The Toronto Blue Jays continue to have a rough go of it, losing shortstop Jose Reyes to a serious ankle injury, though there were enough hints of progress to move from 27 to 24 in the latest rankings.
