The streaking Winnipeg Blue Bombers will receive a boost to their offence on Saturday against the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

Wide receiver Ryan Smith is set to return this week after an eight-week absence due to a lower-body injury.

TSN Radio 1290 Winnipeg's Darrin Bauming reports Smith is expected to take Clarence Denmark's spot in the starting offence against the Riders.

Smith joined the Blue Bombers from the Roughriders in the offseason and had 19 catches for 186 yards and a touchdown before his Week 4 injury.

The Bombers have won their past five games despite Smith being out of the lineup.

The following players also returned to practice for the Blue Bombers:

- DB Terrence Frederick (missed the last three games).

- DB Chris Randle (missed the last five games with right ankle/foot injury).

- DB Macho Harris (missed the last five games on six-Game IL with lower-body injury).
