The Toronto Blue Jays have claimed first baseman Justin Smoak off waivers from the Seattle Mariners.

The 27-year-old played in 80 games from the Mariners last season posting a .202 batting average with seven homers and 30 RBIs.

Smoak hit a career high 20 home runs for the Mariners in 2013.

He was drafted with the 11th overall pick of the 2008 MLB Draft by the Texas Rangers.
