The "Smartest Man in Baseball" will be heading to Dunedin for spring training.

The Toronto Blue Jays have signed lefty reliever Craig Breslow to a minor-league deal with an invitation to training camp, the team announced on Monday.

A 37-year-old native of New Haven, CT, Breslow split last season between the Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Indians. He appeared in 37 games, going 1-1 with an earned run average of 5.09 and a 1.557 WHIP over 35.1 innings pitched.

Originally taken in the 26th round of the 2002 MLB Amateur Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers out of Yale, Breslow has spent 12 years in the majors with the San Diego Padres, Boston Red Sox, Indians, Twins, Oakland Athletics, Arizona Diamondbacks and Miami Marlins. He won the 2013 World Series as a member of the Red Sox.

Breslow is the second veteran reliever given a minor-league deal by the Jays in the last week. The club signed Port Dover, Ont. native John Axford on Friday.

FanRag Sports' Robert Murray was first with the signing.
