The St. Louis Blues announced on Sunday that forward Alexander Steen was placed on injured reserve for an upper-body injury.

He will be re-evaluated in four weeks' time.

Steen, 31, incurred the injury during Saturday's 6-4 win over the Arizona Coyotes. He landed awkwardly into the boards after a hit from Kevin Connaughton. Steen left the game and did not return.

The Winnipeg native is the Blues' second-leading scorer this season. In 61 games, Steen has 17 goals and 30 assists.

The Blues - third in the Central Division - are back in action on Monday night when they host the San Jose Sharks.
