The Winnipeg Blue Bombers could be without the services of wide receiver Ryan Smith for a few weeks, according to head coach Mike O'Shea.

Thomas Mayo will take his place in the lineup when the team hosts the Calgary Stampeders Thursday night.

O'Shea addressed the media following practice on Sunday but didn't divulge when or how Smith was injured, other than that it was lower-body.

The third year native of Wahpeton, North Dakota, was in Thursday's lineup that saw the Bombers fall to 1-3 in the standings following a loss to the Edmonton Eskimos. Smith had three fourth-quarter touches, including an 8-yard catch with 0:55 remaining in the game.

Mayo made his CFL regular season debut in Week 2 when he replaced injured receiver Weston Dressler. The 26-year-old rookie, who earned an invitation to Bomber rookie camp through a tryout camp in Washington, registered five catches for 73 yards.
