HOUSTON - Shane Mosley wants to face the winner of the upcoming Manny Pacquiao-Ricky Hatton fight before taking a rematch with Miguel Cotto.
The 37-year-old Mosley is weighing his options after beating Antonio Margarito to win the WBA welterweight title on Jan. 24 in Los Angeles. Pacquiao and Hatton will meet in Las Vegas on May 2 for Hatton's IBO junior welterweight belt.
"The only three fights out there right now are Pacquiao, Hatton and Cotto," Mosley said Friday. "That's what I'm looking at right now. I'd want Pacquiao or Hatton first. I feel like I have about four more years of fighting left, so I don't care how long I have to wait."
Cotto defeated Mosley at Madison Square Garden in November 2007, then lost to Margarito in July 2008, his first professional defeat.
Mosley then beat Margarito by technical knockout after a plaster-like substance was found wrapped around Margarito's hands moments before the fight. Earlier this month, Margarito's boxing licence was suspended in California for at least a year.
Mosley said he wouldn't be interested in a rematch with Margarito anyway.
"I think that fight (in January) clearly showed who would win another fight," he said. "It clearly showed that his style cannot beat my style. I don't think there's anything else to prove."
Margarito's trainer, Javier Capetillo, also lost his licence for at least one year. Mosley said Capetillo is more at fault than Margarito for the illegal wraps.
"He's the one who should be blamed," Mosley said. "He was the one wrapping his hands."
