MONTREAL -- Antonin Decarie of Laval, Que., will defend his minor WBC International welterweight title against unbeaten American Alex Perez on Sept. 29 at the Foxwoods casino in Connecticut.

Decarie (26-1), ranked eighth by the WBC, won the belt with a 12-round unanimous decision over Victor Lupo on Dec. 17 in Quebec City.

His only loss was by decision to Souleymane M'baye in France in 2010.

Perez, from Newark, N.J., is coming off a 10-round decision against Francisco Figueroa on March 7.

The bout is to be televised in the U.S. on the HBO specialty channel.
