(SportsNetwork.com) - The Atlanta Braves shoot for a series win Wednesday in the second test of a three-game set against the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park.

The Braves won Tuesday's opener, 3-2, and received a bounce-back effort from Aaron Harang, who allowed two runs in six innings of work. Anthony Varvaro, Jordan Walden and Craig Kimbrel each threw a scoreless inning of relief, with Kimbrel nailing down his 22nd save.

Justin Upton and his brother, B.J., both homered and Chris Johnson finished 2- for-4 with an RBI for the Braves, who are 3-2 on an 11-game road trip and had lost two straight and five of seven games before last night's win.

The Uptons tied a major league record. This marked the fourth time they have homered in the same contest. That equals the record by Vladimir and Wilton Guerrero and Jason and Jeremy Giambi.

"It's pretty cool any time you can tie a Major League Baseball record," B.J. Upton said.

Braves outfielder Jason Heyward has reached base safely via hit or walk in 39 of his last 42 games.

Atlanta is two games behind Washington for the NL East lead and will close the trip this weekend against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Alex Wood gets the start for the Braves tonight and is 5-6 with a 3.43 earned run average. Wood pitched in relief on June 8 at Arizona and has seen action with Triple-A Gwinnett. Wood, a left-hander, has never faced the Astros and is 2-3 with a 4.21 ERA in 10 games (4 starts) on the road.

Wood is taking the rotation spot of the injured Gavin Floyd (elbow).

The Astros have lost three in a row and seven of eight games. Scott Feldman suffered the hard-luck loss by allowing three runs in six innings.

"It was a pretty average game," Feldman said of his performance. "It was a good night for the Uptons I guess."

George Springer homered in a losing cause. Houston went 1-for-10 with runners in scoring position and left 10 men on base.

The 'Stros still have Detroit and Seattle to play on this lengthy homestand and are 17-21 at Minute Maid Park.

Collin McHugh hopes to get back in the win column when he takes the mound Wednesday for the 'Stros. McHugh has dropped back-to-back starts and is 2-5 in his previous seven decisions. In last Thursday's 5-0 loss at Tampa Bay, McHugh only allowed two unearned runs in six innings.

McHugh has a 2-3 mark in five home starts and the right-hander will make his first career start against the Braves. He faced them in relief once before, allowing two runs and two hits in an inning of work.

This is the only series between the Braves and Astros this season. Atlanta went 4-2 in this series back in 2012.
