Atlanta, GA - The Atlanta Braves have signed former All- Star closer Jim Johnson to a one-year deal. Financial terms of the deal were not announced, but the pact is believed to be worth $1.6 million.

The 31-year-old righty recorded 101 saves for Baltimore from 2012-13 and represented the Orioles at the All-Star Game in 2012. However, after being dealt to Oakland last December, Johnson struggled with the Athletics, posting a 7.14 earned run average in 38 games prior to being released on Aug. 1.

Johnson then signed with Detroit a few days later and pitched to a 6.92 ERA in 16 games.

Over the course of his nine-year career Johnson has posted a 23-28 mark to go along with a 3.57 ERA and 124 saves in 414 games, all but one coming out of the bullpen, for the Orioles, A's and Tigers.
