SAO PAULO - Doctors say Brazilian soccer great Pele has a urinary infection.

The Albert Einstein hospital in Sao Paulo says the infection was diagnosed after the three-time World Cup winner underwent a series of exams after being admitted for a medical evaluation late Monday.

The hospital said in a statement on Tuesday that the 74-year-old Pele is "stable."

No other details were immediately available.

Pele was released from the same hospital less than 10 days ago after successfully undergoing surgery to remove kidney stones.
