(SportsNetwork.com) - The Brewers swept a three-game set at Coors Field by scoring 28 runs last weekend. Milwaukee hopes to ride its recent offensive onslaught in the opener of a four-game series versus the Colorado Rockies.

Thursday's pitching matchup at Miller Park is a repeat from last Saturday.

Christian Friedrich aims for his first victory since July 13, 2012 when he takes the mound for the Rockies. The lefty spent the first part of last season in the minors before going on the disabled list with back inflammation. He returned to the majors when he surrendered seven hits and nine runs -- four earned -- over six innings to absorb the loss on Saturday.

Righty Wily Peralta picked up the 9-4 win by throwing 7 2/3 effective innings. He has won a career-high four consecutive starts. Peralta is 1-2 with a 6.62 ERA in four career games (three starts) against the Rockies.

The Rockies suffered a 9-6 home loss to St. Louis Wednesday afternoon. Corey Dickerson had a two-run double for the Rockies and Drew Stubbs belted a solo homer in the loss, Colorado's eighth in nine games.

"It's just a little tough period we're going through right now," Dickerson said. "It's not about just the bullpen, it's about us [hitters], too. We've just got to pick it up as a team and play some team ball and we'll pick up some wins."

The Brewers were 9-2 winners at home over Washington yesterday afternoon. Scooter Gennett finished 2-for-5 with a grand slam and five RBI. Khris Davis added a solo homer and two-run single for the Brewers, who avoided a sweep and won for the seventh time in 10 overall. Carlos Gomez added three hits, an RBI and scored once for the victorious hosts.

Marco Estrada (7-4) departed after 6 1/3 innings having given up just two runs and as many hits with four walks and four strikeouts.

"This was a real important outing for (Estrada). It's important for him to get back into that mode and pitch the way we know he can," said Brewers manager Ron Roenicke.
