TORONTO — Adam Brooks scored 4:27 into overtime as the Toronto Marlies edged the Utica Comets 3-2 on Thursday afternoon in the American Hockey League.

Pierre Engvall and Vincent LoVerde had goals in the second and third period respectively as Toronto (51-18-2) rallied from a 2-0 deficit. Garret Sparks made 23 saves for the Marlies, the AHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Jalen Chatfield and Tanner MacMaster helped Utica (36-24-11) build a 2-0 lead by the first intermission. Richard Bachman stopped 39 shots for the Comets, the minor-league club for the Vancouver Canucks.

The Marlies didn't score on their three power plays and Utica never had a man advantage.

Toronto has won five straight and the Comets are on a five-game point streak.
