The Boston Bruins have retained one of their blueliners.

The team came to terms on Thursday with defenceman Torey Krug  defenceman Torey Krug on a four-year extension worth $5.25 million a season.

Krug, 25, was set to become a restricted free agent on Friday.

A native of Royal Oak, Michigan, Krug originally signed with the Bruins in 2012 as an undrafted free agent out of Michigan State. Krug appeared in all 81 games for the Bruins this past season, scoring four goals and adding four assists.

In 241 games over parts of five seasons with the Bruins, Krug has tallied 30 goals and 95 assists.

With Krug signed, defenceman Colin Miller and Joe Morrow remain as the club's unsigned restricted free agents.
