ONTARIO, Calif. - Peter Budaj made 19 saves as the Ontario Reign shut out the Manitoba Moose 4-0 on Saturday in American Hockey League action.

Michael Mersch scored twice — once into an empty net — to lead Ontario's (26-10-4) offence, while Sean Backman and Kris Newbury had goals as well. Backman added two assists.

Eric Comrie stopped 24-of-27 shots for the Moose (11-25-7), the minor league affiliate of the Winnipeg Jets.

Neither team scored on the power play. The Reign went 0 for 4, while Manitoba was 0 for 3.
