Canada is off to a strong start at the Monaco Rugby Sevens.

Canada opened the tournament on Saturday with a 33-0 win over Uruguay and then blanked Sri Lanka 57-0.

Harry Jones led the Canadian side in their first match, racking up four tries.  

Against Sri Lanka, Conor Trainor, Justin Douglas, Nathan Hirayama and Admir Cejvanovic all scored first half tries and the rout was on as Canada took a 26-0 into halftime. The team refused to let up in the second half, adding five tries.

The Canadians have already clinched a spot to play in the knockout round on Sunday, but will finish their group round today at 12:36pm et/9:36am pt. on TSN GO.

The tournament represents Canada’s final chance to qualify for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
