GOLD COAST, Australia -- Santiago Cordero scored two tries as Argentina rallied in the second half to beat Canada 14-12 in Pool D action at the Gold Coast Rugby Sevens on Saturday.

Harry Jones and Lucas Hammond scored tries for Canada (0-3) and Jones added a convert to take a 12-7 lead into halftime. But Argentina (3-0) responded with seven points in the second half to jump into the lead.

It was the second straight loss for the Canadians, who fell 17-15 to the United States in their first match.

Zach Test scored three tries to lead the U.S. (1-2), while Madison Hughes added a successful conversion. Justin Douglas led Canada with two tries and Hammond added another, but Jones and Cairn Hearn combined to miss three converts in the loss.

Canada capped the day with a 19-12 loss to England (2-1). John Brake and Dan Norton scored first-half tries and Marcus Watson added another in the second half. Jones and Sean Duke replied with tries for Canada.

The Canadian squad will play the third-place team from Pool A in the Bowl quarter-finals on Sunday.
