DRESDEN, Germany - Canadian figure skaters Julianne Seguin and Charlie Bilodeau won gold in the pairs competition at the ISU Junior Grand Prix on Saturday.

Seguin, from Longueuil, Que., and Bilodeau of Trois-Pistoles, Que., finished first with a personal-best score of 174.10 points. Lina Fedorova and Maxim Miroshkin of Russia were next with 162.12 points and Americans Chelsea Liu and Brian Johnson won bronze with 132.15 points.

The Canadians have qualified for the Junior Grand Prix final set for Dec. 11-14 in Barcelona.

''We approached this season ready to work very hard and that's allowed us to have this success,'' said Seguin. ''One of our goals this season was to reach the final so this is a big step in our career.''

Hope McLean of Glencoe, Ont., and Trennt Michaud of Trenton, Ont., were fifth.

Canada's Roman Sadovsky just missed the podium in the men's competition.

Sadovsky, from Vaughan, Ont., had a strong free skate to move from eighth to fourth place overall. Andrei Lazikin of Russia won gold, He Zhang of China took the silver and Yaroslav Paniot of Ukraine won bronze.

Vancouver's Mitchell Gordon was 10th.
