DAWSON CREEK, B.C. - Arnaud Durandeau and Jake Leschyshyn both scored in the shootout as Canada Black rallied for a 4-3 win over the Czech Republic on Monday at the under-17 world hockey challenge.

Leschyshyn also scored in the second period for Canada Black, which now has the extra-time win and a loss at the tournament. Michael Rasmussen and Jocktan Chainey had goals in regulation time as well.

Goalie Alex D'Orio made 29 saves through regulation and over time for Canada Black before turning aside 5-of-6 skaters in the shootout.

"It is a team effort," said Leschyshyn. "Yes, I scored the winning goal, but D'Orio kept us in the game with many big saves. I feel we won this as a team and this is what matters."

Daniel Bukac and Jakub Galvas gave the Czech Republic (0-1-1) a 2-0 lead after 9:04 of play. Filip Zadina also scored for the Czechs.

Tomas Vomacka stopped 15 shots for the Czechs.

Earlier in Dawson Creek, B.C., Louis-Filip Cote and Greg Meireles both scored on the power play in the third period but it was too late as Canada White fell to the United States 7-5.

Owen Tippett, Ian Mitchell and Gabe Vilardi also scored for Canada White (1-1-0), while Evan Bouchard had four assists. Ian Scott stopped 25-of-31 shots in net for the Canadians.

Grant Mismash led the Americans (2-0-0) with a pair of goals. Scott Reedy, Randy Hernandez, Josh Norris and Joey Cassetti rounded out the attack, while Adam Scheel made 24 saves for the win. Evan Barratt added an empty-net goal for some insurance.

In Fort St. John, B.C., Antoine Morand struck twice for Canada Red (1-0-0) in a 4-1 win over Sweden.

Josh Brook and Joel Teasdale also scored for Canada Red, while Michael DiPietro made 23 saves for the win.

Timothy Liljegren replied for Sweden (0-2-0). Arvid Soderblom started in net for the Swedes, stopping 15-of-18 shots in the first period. Olle Eriksson Ek made 14 saves on 15 shots in relief.

Also in Fort St. John, Finland beat Russia 6-3.
