Following victories over Canada and Czech Republic, upstart Slovakia will take on powerhouse Russia in the final of the 2012 IIHF World Championship.

Russia, who advanced to the championship with a semifinal victory over host Finland, has yet to lose a game in the tournament.
Catch all the action live on TSN, today at 1:15pm et/10:15am pt. The game is also available on TSN Mobile TV.

After upsetting favoured Canada in the quarter-final, Slovakia entered the semi-final once again as underdogs, this time to their rivals Czech Republic.

Miroslav Satan scored twice in that contest to lead his nation to a 3-1 victory and a spot in the gold medal game.

Evgeni Malkin led his Russian side to an easy 6-2 victory over Finland to advance to the final.
The 25-year-old forward scored twice in the first period against the reigning world champion and completed a hat trick in the second period.

Russia rolled through Norway in the quarter-final after completing an unblemished round-robin portion of the competition.

The Russians are looking to improve on the silver they won in 2010, the last time they medaled at the World Championship, and regain the title that they captured in both 2008 and 2009.

The Slovaks last won the World Hockey Championship in 2002 when they defeated Russia 4-3 in the gold medal game.
