STONEY CREEK, Ont. -- Jane Kish stopped all 25 shots she faced as the Weyburn Gold Wings blanked the Sudbury Lady Wolves 3-0 on Friday to advance to the gold-medal game at the Esso Cup.
Bailee Bourassa and Cassidy Pirlot each had a goal and an assist for the Gold Wings (5-1-0) while Paige Smith added a single goal.
Stephanie Pascal turned away 26-of-29 shots for the Lady Wolves (3-3-0).
Bourassa opened the scoring for Weyburn at 10:41 of the second period and Pirlot doubled her club's lead 44 seconds into the third with a power-play goal.
Smith made it a three-goal game at 7:57.
The Gold Wings went 1 for 6 on the power play while Sudbury failed to score on four chances with the man advantage.
In the other semifinal, the Edmonton Thunder needed a shootout to slip past the Stoney Creek Sabres 2-1.
Jessica Healey opened the scoring for the Thunder 2:18 into the first before Claire Merrick responded for the Sabres at 16:07 of the third to force extra time.
Edmonton's Tracie Kikuchi made 29 saves for the win as Serena D'Angelo stopped 21 shots for the Sabres.
Weyburn will face Edmonton in the final, while Sudbury plays against Stoney Creek for bronze. Both games are on Saturday.
